Election Suggestions

October 9, 2010

Our Thousand Oaks Tea Party is a non-partisan
organization supportive of Constitutionally-limited
government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets.
We oppose corruption, wasteful spending, raising
taxes, and the influence of special interests in our
government which was designed by our Founders to be
of the people, by the people, and for the people.

The 12 Values of the 9.12 Project:
Honesty, Reverence,
Hope, Thrift, Humility, Charity, Sincerity, Moderation,
Hard Work, Courage, Personal Responsibility, Gratitude

Dear Tea Party – 9.12 Members:

Because many of you have asked how I will vote November 2, below are the candidates and issues that I believe are aligned with our T.O. Tea Party principles.

I have discussed these with many Tea Party members and other T.O. residents and have come to the conclusions below :

I have not listed the major candidates in the major parties below because you probably already have made decisions on them.  If you do want to know my opinion on them, feel free to ask.

T.O. City Council * * * * * *

The more I delve into Thousand Oaks concerns, the more I find special interest money influencing major changes in our city and driving two incumbents – Fox and Gillette – into projects against the wishes of  most residents and which will change our town forever.  Therefore, I feel it is very important that we replace these two incumbents, so I will vote for:

* * * Claudia Bill-de la Pena, incumbent –
Claudia has proved herself to be fiscally conservative
See Acorn of 10-7-10:

* * * Al Adam – Claudia’s appointed planning commissioner.  Claudia & Al are running as a “team of fiscal conservatives against over-development of Thousand Oaks.”
See Acorn of 9-23-10 :

* * * Geoff Bride – At our Candidate Forum 9/16, and at three other Forums, Geoff, unlike any other, repeatedly spoke of the need to cut wasteful spending, pensions, salaries, benefits and fees.
See Acorn of 9-16-10:

Conejo Recreation & Park District

I have found that taxpayer money has – and will continue to be – much abused in the Lang Ranch Community Park project.  Therefore I will  vote for   no   incumbents.   Instead I will vote only for

Charles Huffer

Conejo Valley School District

Michael Dunn – I know him to work diligently for conservative principles and values in schools.  I will vote for him.  That saves taxpayer money.

And, since Dunn recommends voting for the other incumbents to maintain our good schools, I will also vote for incumbents

Tim Stephens
Pat Phelps

County Treasurer – Tax Collector

I will vote for Steven Hintz. I believe he will keep our tax money safer.

State Superintendent of Public Instruction

I will  write  in  “Diane Lenning.”

She lost in the primary, but the other two candidates are liberals, meaning they will waste taxpayer dollars.

The more people write in her name, the bigger the message we’ll send in Calif. that we want want Conservatives on the ballot!

This is how I will vote on the Propositions I feel are Tea Party-related.

19   –    – –    –    Legalize marijuana (A social issue – not in Tea Party core principles.)

20 –    Yes –  Redistricting – More people involved in the process, removes special interest influence
21 –    No –   Vehicle license surcharge (a tax)
22 –   Yes –   Keep taxpayers money local
23 –   Yes  – Don’t destroy good jobs with job-killing Green jobs
24 –   No   – Maintain existing legislation that helps businesses tax-wise
25 –   No –   Would make it easier to raise taxes!!!
26 –   Yes –  Makes it harder to raise levies & charges
27 –   No –   Redistricting – the opposite of Prop. 20 (don’t vote the same way on both of them)

I hope this helps!

8/22 Simi Rally back on calendar …

Hernan, organizer of the Simi 8/22 Rally, when I told him how many people we’d invited, talked with his friends, and — although they are grieving — decided they would go ahead with the Rally anyway.

Tea Party Rescues America* – new DVD

August 19, 2010

Thursday, Aug. 19 – 7:00 p.m. – Calvary Chapel-Newbury Park  Address:  2697 Lavery Ct., #18, (Lavery Ct. is two long blocks north of Hillcrest & Lawrence)

This brand new documentary about the Tea Party movement was
made especially to show to people who have been hesitant to venture into Tea Party Land (perhaps because the media has done a good job of making patriots look scary).  They’ll see how nice Tea Partiers are — people just like THEM.  Please bring them with you!

The film received rave reviews last week when over 900 groups
showed it across the country — at large gatherings (200) and small.

* Dick Morris says about the film:  The Tea Party Movie shows
the anatomy of the group and explains its motivations.  With almost no funding or paid staff and all decisions made at the local level, the Tea Party people are reshaping American politics.  A bottom-up movement, they are restoring values to our politics.  The film is sometimes moving, sometimes funny, and always interesting. Do yourself a favor and watch it!  (see more at

TEA PARTY CAUCUS led by Michele Bachmann

Member list:

Trent Lott aims to “co-opt” critics of his lobbying racket:

Oct. 2 & 3 – LAS VEGAS

Let’s join Laguna Patriots to help Sharron Angle defeat Harry Reid!

It’s time to send Harry Reid packing!!! Calling all California Patriot’s to Las Vegas on October 2 and 3, 2010.  If not now, then when? If not us, then who?  The time is NOW!!! Let’s invade Las Vegas in support of Sharron Angle.

We will work in the call center and walk the precincts, making the case that Harry must GO!!!

We have seen the tremendous damage that has been done to our country in just a little over a year and a half of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.  We watched as they wasted trillions of dollars of our money. We watched as they took over our economy and our businesses. We watched as they forced Obamacare on us.

We couldn’t stop them then; but, we can do something now! We can send a message to Congress and the Administration that you don’t govern against the People and the Constitution.  We can help kick Harry Reid out of office and replace him with Sharron Angle.  The contrast could not be clearer and the message could not be more important for us and our children.

We are organizing to support Sharron Angle in her campaign to remove Harry Reid from office. We did it with Scott Brown and we can do it with Sharron. We are planning a weekend trip to Las Vegas to put boots on the ground to help her get the message out. We will be walking precincts and helping in the call center.  We will even be walking the tailgate parties at the big football game between UNLV and Reno.  Please set aside the weekend of October 2nd and join us in rebuilding the core values of our country.  More details to come!!!
